Wish List
RUNWAY WISH: In what probably serves as the official kick-off of the “Fifty Shades of Grey” press tour, Dakota will join her costar Jamie Dornan in presenting at the Globes. I absolutely loved the custom Jason Wu dress she wore at the MET Gala last year so I turned to the designer’s Pre-Fall 2015 collection for this glorious emerald beaded slip gown. It’s delicate but sexy, and the color would be simply stunning on her. I really hope she wears it, but if she doesn’t–well, there’s always the 50 Shades premiere.

MY VERDICT: Dakota upgraded from gray to silver when she hit the red carpet for the Golden Globes wearing shimmering Chanel. The “Fifty Shades of Grey” star selected the metallic sequin bustier gown from the Fall-Winter 2014 Haute Couture Collection; an embroidered strapless bodice attached to a molten slinky skirt featuring a sultry front split to show off a lot of leg–and her dainty matching heels.
If you read my annual Golden Globes Wish List then you know I was hoping to see this dress. I had a different actress in mind for it, but I can’t say I’m disappointed in the result because Dakota looked stunning. I only wish she had arrived in the matching blazer, and then removed it halfway through the carpet so that we got a glimpse of it both ways.
I feel a little more could’ve been done with her hair, but the loose waves didn’t hurt the look. She put the finishing touches on with a Chanel Fine Jewelry “Muse” white gold diamond-and-pearl as well as a coordinating Rauwolf gemstone clutch, and a pair of silver Jimmy Choo “Minny” sandals.
I hope can expect more shining moments like this with Dakota’s style game on the 50 Shades press tour.
